New from KejaMove
Today, we’re launching Africa’s first automated moving quotations on WhatsApp.
Meet the KejaMove AI Assistant. You can get an automated moving quote, retrieve an earlier quotation, —all without leaving WhatsApp.
Today, we’re introducing something we’ve been building for a while now.
KejaMove users can now get an automatically calculated moving quotation directly inside WhatsApp.
You’re not just sending a quote request or waiting in line for someone to price your move. For eligible moves, the KejaMove AI Assistant gathers your details, calculates your quote using our system, and sends it right back in the chat, complete with a detailed PDF.
We’re proud to call this a first.
KejaMove is the first moving company in Africa to automate moving quotations, and is now the first to put that ability inside WhatsApp.
The quotation is the headline feature, but what we are launching is broader than a quote agent. The KejaMove AI Assistant can retrieve quotations you have received before, take orders for packing materials, answer common moving questions, start inquiries for our other services, and bring a member of the KejaMove team into the same conversation when you need one.
For us, WhatsApp isn’t just a place for messages anymore. It’s now another way to use KejaMove.

Automated quotation · PDF attached
We’ve been working toward this for years.
KejaMove did not start automating quotations this week.
We’ve spent years building and improving our quotation system on KejaMove.com. Along the way, we’ve learned what really affects the cost and details of a move.
How large is the home? Where is it? Where is it going? How far will the truck travel? At what point does a move stop being something a system should price automatically and become something a person should inspect?
Each move has taught us something new.
We’ve used what we’ve learned to teach our systems to handle the repetitive tasks—especially the ones that make customers wait.
Getting a price is an obvious example.
For years, moving companies have done things the same way: a customer asks for a quote, someone follows up with questions, details get passed around, and eventually a quote is sent back.
Some moves genuinely need that attention. Many do not.
If the details are simple and the pricing rules are clear, there’s no reason to make customers wait for a person to do what the system can already handle.
So we automated it on the website.
We have now brought that work to WhatsApp.
A real KejaMove quotation, not a chatbot estimate
This difference matters.
The AI Assistant does not look at a message and invent what it thinks your move should cost.
For an eligible home or domestic long-distance move, WhatsApp passes the relevant details into the same KejaMove quotation engine used on KejaMove.com.
If the move can be priced automatically, the result is sent back to WhatsApp.
Then the system creates the appropriate KejaMove quotation document, assigns it a valid reference number, and attaches the PDF to the conversation.

So when the Assistant tells you your quote is ready, it’s a real quotation.
You can open it, save it, send it to someone else, or come back to it later.
Making it look like a chat was the easy part.
You shouldn’t have to worry about what’s happening behind the scenes.
You might simply write:
“I’m moving a two-bedroom from Kilimani to South B.”
The hard part is making sure every word in your message goes to the right place and is understood correctly.
Location names turned out to be a particularly good example.
During testing, the Umoja-to-Donholm route, an ordinary Nairobi trip, once came back as roughly 312 kilometers.
Nothing was wrong with the distance calculation itself. One of the names had been resolved to the wrong place.
It might sound odd, but many places share the same names.
There is more than one Umoja in East Africa. Even Mombasa, one of KejaMove’s main long-distance destinations, is also the name of a populated place in Tanzania. Isiolo has a namesake in the Republic of Congo.
A person reading “Mombasa” in a Kenyan moving inquiry immediately understands what the customer means. Mapping software does not have that lived context unless you give it some.
We changed the system.
Typed locations are now resolved before pricing, with the search constrained toward the geography in which KejaMove operates. Where a customer wants to be more precise, they can send a WhatsApp location pin instead. The pricing engine can work with the coordinates while the quotation still shows the familiar location name.
The 312-kilometer mistake was a hassle during testing, but it helped us solve a real African localization problem before more customers used the system. Now, the system converts typed addresses into coordinates before calculating the route, rather than relying on names alone.
A lot of work goes into making those few WhatsApp messages look simple on your phone.
How an instant moving quote works
If your move is simple, there’s not much you need to do.
1. Tell KejaMove what size home you’re moving
You can pick from the options the Assistant shows, or just type the size in your own words.

2. Tell us where you’re moving from and where you’re going
You can type the locations or send a WhatsApp location pin.

3. Receive the quotation and PDF move proposal
If the move qualifies for automated pricing, the KejaMove quotation engine calculates it and returns the result to WhatsApp.
A detailed PDF is also created and attached.

You can talk to it normally
We quickly learned that people don’t use WhatsApp like a form.
They send everything at once.
Someone might write:
“Hi, I need to move a 2br from South C to Ruaka.”
Another customer may have already listed what they want to store and how long they need storage for.
A shop customer might simply say:
“I need 5 boxes and 6 tapes.”
So the Assistant doesn’t force everyone through a step-by-step questionnaire.
For longer messages, AI can help identify information the customer has already provided, so the system does not ask for the same information again. We still use ordinary business rules for things where guessing would be dangerous: prices, quantities, routes, payments, and decisions about whether a move qualifies for an automatic quotation.
We use AI here not to sound clever, but to make KejaMove easier for you.
Your old quotations are available too
Quotation history is one feature you might not notice until you need it.
Choose View my previous quotes, and the Assistant can look up recent quotations associated with your phone number.
If you’re a returning customer, you don’t have to dig through old emails or remember reference numbers.
The Assistant can show recent quotes, including the route, amount, and reference where available.
This works because WhatsApp connects to the same customer records KejaMove already uses, not just a separate bot. The quote history feature reads your stored submissions and shows your latest records.
You can buy your packing materials in the same conversation
We added this after seeing how customers used the Assistant.
A surprising number of WhatsApp conversations were not moving related inquiries at all.
People wanted to purchase boxes.
Or tapes.
Or they wanted to know which sizes were available.
Previously, a staff member would answer these questions by hand, repeat the prices, collect the quantities, and share the payment details.
Now the Assistant can take the order.
It currently handles the packing materials sold through the KejaMove shop, including packing cartons, tape, wrapping paper, bubble wrap, and stretch wrap.
You can order several items in one chat. The Assistant figures out the quantities and total, adds the Nairobi delivery charge, and gives you payment instructions. If anything needs a person to check on it, our team steps in.
This feature is already live and in use—it’s not just a plan.
It is also the front door to the rest of KejaMove
The Assistant currently knows how to start inquiries for Home Moving, Office Moving, International Relocation, Storage, Long-Distance Moving, Pet Relocation, and Decluttering.
Not every one of those services gets an automatic price.
That is intentional.
An office relocation may need a survey. An international move has customs and shipment details that do not belong in a domestic home-moving calculator. A pet relocation needs information about the animal. Storage pricing depends on what is being stored and for how long.
The Assistant gathers the right details and sends them to KejaMove’s systems, without pretending every job can be priced by a computer.
For eligible home and domestic long-distance moves, it can go further and automatically generate the price.
It can answer some of the questions our team answers every day
Customers ask many of the same useful questions before committing to a move.
What is included?
How much deposit is required?
Is the move insured?
What happens if plans change?
The Assistant can answer these common questions, using KejaMove’s real terms.
After receiving a quotation, a customer can also indicate they want to proceed, ask another question, or start a new quote.
If you decide to confirm a quoted move, the Assistant provides deposit and payment instructions so you don’t have to start over elsewhere.
A human is still one message away
We made sure to set clear limits for the Assistant.
Someone can ask for a person at any point.
If a KejaMove team member joins the chat, the Assistant steps back. The person sees the whole conversation and continues in the same thread. Our system ensures the bot stops running once a staff member takes over.
Some messages are also routed to a person immediately. A customer discussing an existing booking or payment, for example, should not be greeted as though they have just arrived for a new quote.
Some moves need human judgment more than speed. When that’s the case, automation steps aside.
Why WhatsApp?
We didn’t pick WhatsApp just because AI is trendy.
We chose it because our customers were already using it.
People send KejaMove their locations on WhatsApp. They send photographs of furniture. They ask whether the team is on the way. They confirm dates, share access instructions, and ask questions during the move.
For years, the chat happened on WhatsApp, but most of the work was done elsewhere.
A salesperson would read the message, open another system, calculate something, prepare something, and copy something back.
The new Assistant helps reduce those extra steps.
The customer still sees WhatsApp.
Behind the scenes, KejaMove is doing much more.
Africa’s first, built in Kenya
We’re proud of what we’ve built.
The moving industry is an industry where technology usually arrives slowly. Most digital quote systems still start with a form, and most moving companies use WhatsApp as just another inbox.
KejaMove has taken a different route.
We started by automating moving quotes on our website. Now, we’ve brought that pricing engine, our customer data, quote documents, shop, and years of experience into a chat conversation.
We built this for how our customers really move in Nairobi, across Kenya, and beyond.
Today, it is live.
Africa’s first automated moving quote system on WhatsApp is now live at KejaMove. You can try it by sending “Hi” to 0723474252.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is my WhatsApp moving quote generated automatically?
Yes, for eligible moves. The KejaMove AI Assistant collects the information it needs and uses the same KejaMove quotation engine behind our website to calculate your quote.
Will I receive a quotation PDF on WhatsApp?
Yes. For moves that are quoted automatically, a detailed quotation PDF is generated and sent to you in the same WhatsApp conversation.
Is the WhatsApp moving quote instant?
For eligible home moves, yes. Once the KejaMove AI Assistant has your home size and route, it calculates the quotation in the same conversation.
What counts as an eligible move?
Eligible moves are home moves within the sizes and routes the assistant can price automatically. Larger houses, unusual access, or complex inventories are flagged for a closer look instead of an automatic number.
What happens if my move needs a survey instead?
The assistant collects what it needs and arranges the right follow-up with the KejaMove team, rather than giving you a price it cannot stand behind.
Do I need to install anything to use this?
No. It works inside WhatsApp on your phone or WhatsApp Web, with no new app and no quotation form to fill in.
Can I still speak to a person?
Yes. You can call or WhatsApp 0723 474 252 at any point, and our team can take over whenever a move needs judgement the assistant should not make on its own.
Can I still get a quote on the website?
Yes. If you prefer a browser, use the KejaMove online quotation tool. It uses the same quotation logic; WhatsApp is simply the quickest way to start from your phone.
Can I check a quote I asked for before?
Yes. From the assistant’s main menu, choose “View my previous quotes” to see quotes you have already requested.
