We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Assistant to join our moving company in Nairobi, East Africa. The Sales Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the sales team and driving business growth through effective lead generation, customer engagement, and sales coordination. The ideal candidate should be proactive, customer-oriented, and possess excellent communication skills. This position reports directly to the Sales Manager.
Lead Generation: Actively identify and pursue potential clients through various channels, including cold calling, email marketing, social media outreach, and networking events.
Sales Support: Assist the sales team in preparing sales materials, proposals, and presentations to showcase our services and value proposition effectively.
Customer Engagement: Engage with potential and existing customers to understand their moving requirements, address queries, and provide appropriate solutions.
Quoting and Negotiation: Prepare accurate and competitive price quotes, negotiate terms, and follow up on proposals to secure new business opportunities.
CRM Management: Maintain a comprehensive customer database using our CRM software, ensuring all leads, interactions, and sales activities are recorded accurately.
Order Processing: Process sales orders promptly, coordinating with the operations team to ensure smooth execution of moving services.
Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends, market demands, and competitors to identify opportunities for business growth and improvement.
Educational Background: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field is a plus.
Sales Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of experience in sales or customer service, preferably in the moving industry or a related field.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Knowledge of other local languages is an advantage.
Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and work effectively within a team.
Problem-solving Abilities: Demonstrated ability to identify customer needs, provide appropriate solutions, and handle objections effectively.
Tech Proficiency: Basic computer skills, including MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with CRM software.
Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Initiative and Resilience: A self-starter who can work independently and maintain a positive attitude, even in challenging situations.
Customer Focus: A passion for providing excellent customer service and creating positive customer experiences.
Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays, to accommodate customer needs.
